Party On Down To Las Palmas For Carnival Time!

Party animals on holiday in Gran Canaria during March should head to the capital city of Las Palmas for its spectacular carnival held every Spring. Carnival parades, masquerading and general revelry has taken centre stage in Las Palmas’ spring for centuries and in our current century, the spectacle combines the best of the traditional with all the latest whizz-bang technology it can muster.

On March the 8th you can catch the Sun Carnival parade along the Las Canteras Beach, whilst on March the 12th the grand finale revolves around the ‘Sardine’s Funeral’ and a grand firework display.

The origins of the Las Palmas carnival can be traced back to the beggining of history but, over the last thirty years or so, the carnival has gone on to become the most socially and economically important festival of the island of Gran Canaria and one of its main tourist attractions.

Anyone on the island of Gran Canaria during carnival time should make the effort to get to Las Palmas to experience this wonderful feast of festivities and tomfoolery.
